Key Question: Given the definition, what is transformational about your insitutional mission or your project?

Small Group Discussion

Friday, June 20, 2003
9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. SESS02

Participants will break up into small groups by their institutional teams.

ACTIVITIES:

For first 45 minutes: Project teams each write a headline and front page article for their local newspaper that outlines what they would hope to see three years after implementation of their institution's project to improve teaching and learning using technology. The article will answer two questions:

What changes have occurred at your institution, in teaching and learning, as a consequence of the project?
Who at your institution was involved in making the project so successful?

For last 15 minutes: Teams pair up and discuss each others' articles.

Participants will break into small groups by institutional team.

WORK PRODUCTS:

Define a working structure for your assessment project (including nature of project team and representation needed for stakeholders).
Based on the article done during the AM small group session, but with the new audience in mind (that is, potential project team members), develop a half to full page proposal describing your assessment project (since this proposal will be used primarily for team recruitment include justification/incentive for team members' participation).

Participants will break up into small groups by their institutional teams.

ACTIVITIES:

Fill out a template which lays out the potential action steps, work products and a general timeframe, high level milestones for your assessment plan.
Draft an agenda for your project team's first meeting (or next meeting).
