About EDUCAUSE

The EDUCAUSE Strategic Initiatives Fund

EDUCAUSE member dues sustain a variety of ongoing activities and publications to support the management and use of information resources in higher education. These include maintaining a vigorous policy presence in Washington D.C., staffing a dynamic set of member committees, providing the EDUCAUSE Web site, and producing a variety of serial publications such as Edupage, EDUCAUSE Quarterly, and EDUCAUSE Review.

These and other member programs are designed to create and foster professional communities and to ensure that leading practices are accessible to all member colleges and universities. Dues also support the research and development of new EDUCAUSE products and services, as well as leading multi–year initiatives such as Net@EDU and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI). Corporate participation supports the overall mission of EDUCAUSE, providing a margin of excellence to EDUCAUSE conferences, educational activities, publications, and programs. The support of EDUCAUSE corporate members also enables EDUCAUSE to make its products and services affordable to colleges and universities. Most corporations participate in the EDUCAUSE annual conference.

Our goal is to deliver value for money by showcasing corporate offerings to audiences of relevant and interested decision makers. Many corporations sponsor specific EDUCAUSE projects or programs. These sponsorships make it possible to publish books and monographs, to showcase broadband applications, and host major professional gatherings. A smaller group of corporate friends provides undesignated funding to support EDUCAUSE explorations in new areas of strategic importance. These gifts make it possible for EDUCAUSE to remain on the leading edge in matters of utmost importance to higher education.

The new EDUCAUSE Strategic Initiatives Fund has been established both to attract and recognize corporate support of this nature and to recognize such support. Corporate donors to the fund are distinguished by their commitment to the EDUCAUSE mission and membership. The generosity of contributors to the EDUCAUSE Strategic Initiatives Fund is recognized throughout the year at the EDUCAUSE annual conference, in printed programs, advertisements, on the EDUCAUSE Web site, and in EDUCAUSE offices.

EDUCAUSE and its higher education members appreciate the support of its corporate community. We will continue to build unique and meaningful forums to bring corporate leaders together with their colleagues and customers in higher education.
