Fordham University Selects SunGard Higher Education to Help Implement Administrative/ERP SystemBanner Unified Digital Campus Serves as Core of University’s Information Technology MALVERN, Pa, August 12, 2009 — Fordham University has contracted with SunGard Higher Education (www.sungardhe.com) for onsite and remote assistance managing the implementation and optimization of its administrative system. In addition, the company will provide business intelligence and decision support services to develop an information and reporting environment using the University’s administrative system data. Fordham’s project has been named “Confirmare,” and utilizes SunGard Higher Education’s Banner Unified Digital Campus (UDC) as its core component. SunGard Higher Education is supporting the management of the 30-month implementation/optimization project by deploying professional staff who reside full time on campus, augmented by remote services. “As our implementation partner during the ERP process, SunGard Higher Education has given us great flexibility in meeting the complex business needs of a higher education institution,” said Frank Sirianni, vice president and CIO for the University. “What attracted us to their implementation approach was SunGard Higher Education’s willingness to be held accountable for success, and to provide full-time, onsite staff in addition to their remote just-in-time services. And by helping us more successfully gather and analyze key operational data, we look forward to improving our institutional performance. During these challenging times, business intelligence is critical to our success.” The Banner UDC provides access to university administrative operations via the Web. The fully integrated system, which includes modules for administrative finance, student information, financial aid and human resources, places key university functions on one common platform. Fordham also relies on SunGard Higher Education’s Luminis platform to help improve efficiencies and reduce redundancy among software products and networks, allowing for better communication and more consistent information services for students, faculty, and staff. ”Fordham understands that the successful implementation of a robust administrative system will not only help achieve greater efficiencies in the operation of the university by leveraging IT services, but will also help the institution contain its costs,” said Brad Rucker, SunGard Higher Education’s senior vice president of services. “We look forward to working with Fordham to implement and optimize this system, thereby helping the institution improve its effectiveness and better serve its students, faculty and staff.” About Fordham University About SunGard Higher Education About SunGard SunGard provides software and processing solutions for financial services, higher education and the public sector.
