Special Advisory Bodies

Special Advisory Bodies provide guidance from senior leaders in the profession on major initiatives. Members of special advisory bodies are appointed separately; these bodies are not part of the association's volunteer process.

The EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Higher Education Information Security Council

The EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Higher Education Information Security Council (formerly the Security Task Force) was established in July 2000. The Council is working to improve security awareness among the EDUCAUSE and Internet2 memberships and throughout higher education. The Information Security Council actively promotes effective practices and solutions for the protection of information assets and critical infrastructures. The Information Security Council is coordinating its efforts on behalf of institutions of higher education by partnering with the American Council on Education, Association of American Universities, National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and the American Association of Community Colleges. The EDUCAUSE Network Policy Council

The EDUCAUSE Network Policy Council (NPC) strives to understand the full range of network and telecommunications policy issues confronting the research and education community, to enhance the capabilities of this community to manage and respond to these issues, and to work in a collaborative fashion to catalyze the community's formulation of a coherent policy message.
