Professional Development Committee

This committee provides direction and recommendations to EDUCAUSE for a broad range of professional development activities. These activities include the EDUCAUSE Institutes, regional and topical conferences, workshops, seminars, web-based events and materials, books, articles and affiliated events. The committee develops ideas for new professional development activities and evaluates existing activities for currency and relevance. The committee plays an important role in helping EDUCAUSE respond to the current needs of its members and to anticipate forces, trends and emerging technologies that may have an impact on higher education.

Members of this committee should represent interests related to a broad range of IT areas, including teaching and learning, administrative and enterprise technology, networking, infrastructure, IT leadership, and other areas of the academy, such as research, business functions or enrollment management, and should possess a deep commitment to professional development.

Generally nine appointed members who serve 3-year terms make up this committee. The directors of the EDUCAUSE Institute programs serve in an ex-officio capacity.
