Lassner, Orr Elected to EDUCAUSE Board of Directors
October 8, 2009, Boulder, Colorado—EDUCAUSE, the association for information technology in higher education, announced that David Lassner of the University of Hawaii and Pattie Orr of Baylor University have been elected to the EDUCAUSE Board of Directors by the association’s membership. They will each serve a four-year term. About the election, EDUCAUSE President Diana Oblinger said, “Given their consistent leadership and commitment to advancing the role of technology in higher education, we are fortunate to welcome Pattie Orr and David Lassner to the EDUCAUSE board. Their knowledge and insight will help ensure EDUCAUSE continues to evolve in ways that best serve its members and higher education in general.”
Lassner earned an A.B in economics and an M.S. in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Ph.D. in communications and information sciences from the University of Hawaii.
Orr holds a B.S. in education from Abilene Christian University and a master’s degree in education from Lesley University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in higher education administration.
