About Net@EDUProviding a Vision for Future NetworkingNet@EDU helps higher education shape and take full advantage of emerging networking opportunities. Our activities span the spectrum of academic and cutting-edge research networking, from the administration of campus and state networks to identifying the most appropriate network projects for implementation to acting as a national center for research and advocacy in network policy issues. The Need for Net@EDUSeizing the opportunities provided by the dramatic, ongoing developments in the technical, business, legal, and regulatory environments of networking is a constant challenge. Net@EDU helps its members understand, forecast, and shape these developments to best support their evolving networking needs. A Tradition of LeadershipNet@EDU was created in July 1998 with the merger of the Networking and Telecommunications Task Force (NTTF) and the Federation of American Research Networks (FARNET). As part of EDUCAUSE, Net@EDU enjoys access to a vast network of information and other professional resources. Uniting these policy leadership organizations gives members a stronger voice for promoting the development of advanced networking in higher education.
