Biography

Abraham George serves as the Chief Information Officer at Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia. Abraham leads the strategic initiatives in the development of technology and information management at Columbus State. Abraham has over 18 years of experience in information system management. His recent technology projects include implementation of Interactive voice response system to improve performance and efficiency in student customer services from recruitment to graduation, Threat assessment reporting system (TARS), a unified communication system to streamline the campus electronic communication, a high-speed Internet video conferencing system that allows learning in a collaborative environment. He has participated in several professional training programs including Leadership training at Harvard University, supercomputing at Carnegie Mellon University and computer policy at Cornell University, developed successful proposal to National Science Foundation, and Ford Foundation. Prior to joining CSU, he was the Director of Networking Services and Academic Computing at Tuskegee University, Alabama. His professional affiliations include Association of Colleges and Universities Telecommunications professionals in higher education, association of Microsoft Certified Professionals Organization and Educause. Abraham holds a BS and an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Kerala University, India and Tuskegee University respectively.
