Edward Watson is the Director of Professional Development and Strategic Initiatives within Learning Technologies at Virginia Tech. In addition to developing the curriculum for the Faculty Development Institute and directing the activities of Online Course Systems, he is also leading the rollout of Sakai and OSP on campus. His research interests include the diffusion of innovation in higher education contexts, the roll self-efficacy plays when faculty adopt new instructional practices, and emerging active learning strategies that are enabled by technology.
