Christian BonifortiChristian BonifortiBiographyChris Boniforti is the Chief Information Officer at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. A member of the Presidentâs cabinet, Boniforti advises the universityâs managing body on technology initiatives and strategic infrastructure planning. In addition to managing the network and information services for the campus, he has directed the design and rollout of an open source student portal and is now overseeing phase two implementation to accommodate the specialized needs of Lynnâs faculty and staff. A key member of the campusâ crisis and hurricane response teams, Boniforti also co-chairs the universityâs Academic Spaces Taskforce and supervises Lynnâs Center for Instructional Innovation â an on-site clinic for melding each classroomâs visual and structural attributes with its virtual and technological components. Boniforti was named South Floridaâs âTop CIOâ at the South Florida Business Journal's 2007 Technology Awards. He earned his bachelorâs degree in political science from the University of Michigan and has an MBA from Lynn University. His technical certifications include PMI and SANS GIAC. He has been featured in Campus Technology magazine, Security Administrators Network Systems (SANS), and contributed an editorial in August 2006 on the utilization of open source technology to Ed Tech Magazine.
