David G. Wedaman

Biography

Dr. David Wedaman is Director for Research and Instruction Services in the merged Library and Technology Services at Brandeis University. In that capacity, he oversees a variety of teaching and research support and consultation services, including the library and IT liaison program; instructional technology; research support; the library instruction program; institutional archives and special collections; resource sharing; and multimedia support.

Previously at Brandeis he was Manager of Instructional Technology, oversaw the Instructional Technology Resource Center (ITRC), worked as an Academic Technology Specialist in the Center for Instructional Media and Technology (CIMTech), helped manage the Language Media Center, and taught French and Writing courses. He has a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and an M.A. in Humanities.

David serves on the board of the Northeast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP), chaired its annual conference committee, and is now chair of its popular "SIG" professional development workshop series committee.

David read on the EDUCAUSE 2009 Leadership track, is a FRYE Institute fellow (class of 2007), and attended the Educause Institute Management Program 2004. He is a member of ALA and the Mind, Brain, Education Society.

David is the creator of the upstart Least Shining Crescent Press (leastshiningcrescent.com); his current project is an introduction to the little-known language Grelyk, due out in Fall 2009.
