Fredrick MillerChief Information Officer Greenville, South Carolina UNITED STATES Fredrick MillerBiographyFred Miller is Chief Information Officer and Director of Computing and Information Services at Furman University. Fred oversees and directs all functions of Furman's Computing and Information Services department including administrative and academic systems; voice, video and data communications; and media services. Fred came to Furman from Illinois Wesleyan University, where he served as Associate Vice President for Information Technology. Fred joined Illinois Wesleyan in 1996 as Director of Information Technology. Before moving to Illinois, Fred was Assistant Vice President for Information Technology at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Fred has earned B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Boston College, and has an M.S. degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois. He has also studied at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the Berklee College of Music. Fred is active in EDUCAUSE. He has spoken at regional and national conferences, and has written articles for EDUCAUSE Quarterly and Cause/Effect. Fred has also served EDUCAUSE as a member of the Publications Advisory Committee, member of the 2007 MidWest Regional program committee, and as chair of the EDUCAUSE Quarterly Editorial Committee.
