Biography

Jerry Perez
Research Associate, Texas Tech University.

Jerry Perez is a Research Associate for the High Performance Computing Center at Texas Tech University. His experience also includes 5 years adjunct teaching in Managment Information Systems for Wayland Baptist University. He has 5 years corporate experience as Senior Product Engineer Technician at Texas Instruments Incorporated. He holds a BS in Organizational Management, an M.B.A. and is currently working on his PhD in Information Systems at Nova Southeastern University. Jerry has authored or co-authored several papers on the implementation of grids to support a variety of specific application areas, including digital rights, security, physics, bioinformatics and engineering. Other synergistic activities include: participation in the development and deployment of a multi-organizational campus-wide compute grid at TTU (TechGrid); lead for deployment of commercial grid technologies with TTU Business, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematics departments; collaboration in SURAgrid (Southeastern Universities Research Association Grid), including contribution to the white paper, SURAgrid Authorization/Authentication: Concepts & Technologies and a soon to be released SURA Grid Cookbook. Jerry was selected as one of 20 winners of the Top Twenty Young Professionals under the age of 40 in Lubbock, Texas for 2007.
