Joan Falkenberg Getman (University of Southern California)Director, Educational Technologies Los Angeles, California UNITED STATES Joan Falkenberg GetmanBiographyJoan Getman has recently become the Director for Educational Technologies/Center for Scholarly Technology at the University of Southern California. The mission of the Center for Scholarly Technology is to enable and facilitate innovative and responsive ways of teaching students by identifying, assessing and recommending effective scalable, efficient applications of current and emerging technology. Joan engages her team in strategic planning for consultation, evaluation and support services as well as projects that explore the alignment of best teaching practices and technology solutions. Her group also cultivates partnerships across campus and provides forums that facilitate discussion of teaching with technology. Joan has a B.A. in Film and Psychology and an M.S. in Communication and Instructional Design.
