John DiLeo

John DiLeo teaches sound and music production for film and video as an adjunct at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He is also a sound production engineer, sound designer and composer with more than 25 years of experience creating sound and music for all media. He has produced award-winning soundtracks and music for virtually every format, from network TV ads to live broadcast mixing to software games. He has been a staff sound designer/composer with two major producers, and since 1993 has operated Mixville Productions, LLC, providing original music and sound design services for a wide array of clients. John holds an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from the University of Hartford. In addition to Quinnipiac, he has taught sound and music production at the University of Massachusetts and at the University of Hartford, an innovative graduate course in computer sound and music for professional educators. He has also conducted workshops instructing production staff at several universities and corporate producers in advanced sound-for-picture production techniques. He is a member of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), The American Federation of Musicians and American Mensa, Ltd. In addition to his media production work, John has been a performing vocalist, keyboardist and guitarist since 1976. His other interests include history, linguistics, and a lifelong interest in astronomy.
