John Moore

Biography

John F. Moore is Senior Director, Strategy and Planning for Learning Technologies at Virginia Tech. He also directs the Faculty Development Institute, recognized for its best practices in a national benchmarking study sponsored by the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association. Moore leads initatives in ePortfolios, online learning and collaboration systems, and faculty development. He currently directs the “Sakai Electronic Notebook for Research and Groupwork” project, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Previously he codirected the Sloan Foundation-funded ACCESS project to study the effects of asynchronous learning courses on students and faculty, as well as several National Cancer Institute-funded consumer health intervention projects using interactive kiosks. Moore’s doctorate in instructional technology is from Virginia Tech.
