Karen Konrath

Biography

Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida and is currently working on her Master of Arts degree in Adult Education and a certification for multimedia design. Her educational areas of interest are the design of learning spaces and design of online adult curriculums. She has many years of combined experience in the TV Broadcasting industry and the higher education environment.

Karen is the Director of Media Services, University of South Florida Polytechnic and provides technology support to campus faculty, students and staff in the smart classrooms and other various distance learning delivery technologies such as Videoconference and Instructional TV. She also facilitates best practices training sessions collaboratively with the Teaching and Learning Technologies department to effectively use the smart classrooms and distance learning delivery technology.

Karen recently worked with a group of USF colleagues to design a new smart technology building located on the shared Lakeland campus with Polk Community College. She is currently working with the Polytechnic campus design committee to plan design ideas for the Learning Commons on the brand new USF Polytechnic campus. This new USF Polytechnic campus will be located on the I-4 high tech corridor between Tampa and Orlando.
