Kenneth A. Weaver

Dr. Ken Weaver is a Lecturer and Undergraduate Academic Advisor and Student Services Coordinator for the School of Computing at Clemson University where he manages the student services, advising, and recruiting function for three undergraduate degree programs with over 250 students. Dr. Weaver received his Bachelor of Science (Geography & Political Science) and Master of Arts (International Affairs) degrees from Florida State University, and his Ph.D. degree in Educational Leadership (Higher Education) from Clemson University. Dr. Weaver joined the then Department of Computer Science in 2002, after a successful career in the academic, federal, business, and non-profit sectors where he served in a variety of positions including: Operations Manager and Corporate Comptroller for Golden Corners Broadcasting, Inc.; professional staff member in Clemson's College of Education, where he recruited ex-military personnel into second careers as public school teachers; Senior Consultant for a software and management firm serving philanthropic foundations throughout the southeast; he founded and ran his own management and data systems consulting firm, focusing on the small business and non-profit sectors. In that capacity he spent over a year working on the streets of Dayton, Ohio, providing opportunities for improving low-income housing policy and the plight of the homeless as the Executive Director of the Religious Coalition for Low-Income Housing. Dr. Weaver retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force in 1986, after a 20 year career in the intelligence career field. A Vietnam veteran, he is the recipient of The Bronze Star Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, The Joint Service Commendation Medal, The Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
