BiesingerBiographyKris Biesinger is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advanced Learning Technologies (ALT alt.usg.edu), a unit within the University System of Georgia (USG) Office of Academics and Fiscal Affairs. Advanced Learning Technologies focuses on assisting System institutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning experiences through effective and efficient integration of instructional technologies. Included among ALT's responsibilities are development and recommendation of policy modifications and additions; management of the academic enterprise infrastructure; coordination of collaborative online program development efforts; development and dissemination of instructional design standards, strategies, and training solutions; investigation and testing of emerging instructional technologies; and research and documentation of distributed learning efforts within the USG.Dr. Biesinger has been involved in education for over 25 years, beginning first as a public school teacher, later assuming teaching roles in higher education, particularly in the areas of educational psychology and gifted education, and as an administrator at the System level for the past 16 years. She manages a staff of 18 individuals who work with faculty, instructional support staffs, and technical support staffs.Dr. Biesinger holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Delaware, and a Master's degree in Gifted Education and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia.
