Lisa GesnerDirector, Marketing Communications 4772 Walnut Street, Suite 206 Boulder, Colorado UNITED STATES (303) 544-5661 Lisa GesnerBiographyLisa leads the EDUCAUSE Marketing Communications and Design teams and has a seat on the Management team. She manages marketing communication tactics, brand identity and general operational projects, and has a lead role in formulation and execution of the association's communications strategy. Lisa also manages promotions, materials production, and the EDUCAUSE exhibit hall booth presence for the EDUCAUSE annual conference. She attended the EDUCAUSE Institute Management Program and highly recommends the program to managers and aspiring managers in higher education. Before joining EDUCAUSE in 2002, Lisa worked in the book industry for more than 10 years, with stints in marketing, publishing, editing, and bookselling on national and local levels. As Senior Marketing Manager for netLibrary (now a division of OCLC) from 1999-2001, Lisa was involved with the introduction of e-books into academic and public libraries. In her role as Advertising and Promotions manager at Boulder Book Store, she created a nationally-known author event series which brought more than 200 authors to speak to the Boulder community each year. Lisa attended Wheaton College in Norton, MA, before moving to Colorado for a three-year stint as a ski bum. She graduated with a BA in English and summa cum laude College Honors from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she was named the 1988 Outstanding Graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences, the winner of the 1987 Jacob Van Ek Award, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa's University of Colorado chapter.
