Loretta M. EarlyLoretta M. EarlyBiographyLoretta Early serves as Associate Vice President for Information Technology at the University of Oklahoma (OU). As Chief of Staff and Chief of Operations for the Vice President and CIO, Loretta is charged with leading efforts to develop and carry out strategic plans for Information Technology (IT) as it pertains to instruction, research, administration, and community service. She also represents the Office of the Vice President and CIO with campus policy and advisory groups, as well as with industry, government, state, regional, and national consortiums. During her tenure at OU, the organization has been recognized as one of Computerworlds Best Places to Work in IT. Before her appointment at OU, Loretta served at The College of William and Mary (W&M) for 12 years in several leadership positions, ultimately rising to the position of CIO. During this time Loretta also served as an adjunct faculty member for W&Ms community college affiliate. Loretta received her Bachelors degree from the University of Virginia. She has more than twenty-five years of progressive leadership experience in Information Technology organizations, including over 18 years in public sector higher education. Her service to information technology in higher education includes appointments on numerous boards and professional organizations, including the Educause Network Awards Committee and as Program Chair, Educause Southwest Regional Conference. Prior to her higher education service, Loretta consulted for a variety of national corporations in private industries, including brokerage and financial services, computer services, food services, and construction management.
