Naomi R. BoyerAssistant Vice-President, Extended University and International Affairs Tampa, Florida UNITED STATES Naomi R. BoyerBiographyNaomi R. Boyer holds a PhD in interdisciplinary education and a MA in special education. As the Director, Teaching and Learning Technologies, University of South Florida Lakeland she assists instructors with the process of integrating technology into the teaching and learning process. She facilitates the training and development of both faculty and students in the appropriate platforms necessary for course participation as well as supports learning tools such as Blackboard, Elluminate, and Chalk & Wire. Dr. Boyer teaches in the Adult Education programs. Her research interests on the use of self-directed frameworks in online settings, the impact of technology on educational settings, and the faculty development programs. Dr. Boyer is listed on a number of grants currently under review at NSF in the area of computing education. In addition, as the Chair, Central Florida Gifted and Talented Institute she has been responsible for the facilitation of a committee who have jointly designed the delivery of specialty programs for gifted students in the region.
