He serves primarily as a consultant to faculty on the implementation of technology in support of education. He was a co-PI on a Pew Course Redesign grant that used in-class and out-of-class technology to foster small-group problem-solving in Introductory Biology. Brewer holds a doctorate in Science Education from Western Michigan University.
