Susan Gerbeth-Jones (Duke University)Assistant Dean of IT, Nicholas School of the Environment Durham, North Carolina UNITED STATES Susan Gerbeth-JonesBiographyWhen microcomputers first came on the scene in a Biology research lab at Duke University. I was fascinated with all that we could automate in the lab. The desire to explore and learn, quickly became an obsession and clearly a direction I would pursue. As technology became more prolific, I enjoyed both the challenge of learning the technology as well as teaching people to use it and facilitating their choice of particular tools to more efficiently accomplish their work. In 2006, I accepted a position in the Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences as director of IT. I now have the opportunity to facilitate the use of technology at a broader scale at Duke.
