Terrill Thompson

Biography

Terry Thompson is Senior Computer Specialist with the University of Washington (UW), where he divides his time between AccessIT (the National Center on Accessible Information Technology in Education) and DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology). These federally-funded research and dissemination projects focus on improving access to technology, education, and challenging careers for individuals with disabilities. Terry has presented at numerous national conferences, seminars and workshops on the topic of technology accessibility, and has consulted with local and state government, private industry, and K-12 and postsecondary education entities on technology access issues. Prior to his work with UW, Terry served as Coordinator of Assistive and Information Technology at North Carolina State University; and as Coordinator of the Computer Learning Center at Independence, Inc., the independent living center in Lawrence, Kansas. He received his Bachelors Degree from Purdue University, and pursued his Masters in Special Education at the University of Kansas.
