Tom LewisTom LewisBiographyTom Lewis directs Catalyst Research & Development for the Office of Learning Technologies at the University of Washington. This group is responsible for the national award winning Catalyst Initiative (http://catalyst.washington.edu/), the Solstice open source Web development framework (http://solstice.eplt.washington.edu/), and numerous projects involving teaching and technology at UW. Tom oversees a staff that includes software developers, graphic and Web designers, editors, instructional technology consultants, and researchers and also coordinates campus-wide or multi-unit projects to integrate teaching and technology. Tom participates in the Open Source Portfolio and Sakai communities, and he previously helped develop the Smart Tools Academy, an intensive technology leadership program for Washington state K-12 administrators.
