Diane Balestri Memorial Scholarship

for the Seminars on Academic Computing (now defunct)

The Diane Balestri Memorial Scholarship for the Seminars on Academic Computing was used to help women who had never attended the Seminars on Academic Computing come to the meeting and join the SAC community.

It was established by the SAC Board of Directors to honor the memory of Diane P. Balestri, former vice president for Computing and Information Services at Vassar College, who died in 2002. Diane was a humanities scholar, academic dean, and IT professional who was a pioneer in the use of information technologies to support effective teaching and learning, an extraordinary collaborator, and an enthusiastic mentor of new members to her professional world.
