EDUCAUSE 2011 Hotel and Travel Information

EDUCAUSE 2011 will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Information about Philadelphia and the convention center is available through these websites:

Hotels

Due to the proximity of EDUCAUSE 2011 online hotel reservations are CLOSED and all inquiries should be directed to the hotels, including cancellations or change in reservations.

If you have not secured a hotel room for EDUCAUSE 2011, please contact the hotels below. Please note: guestroom availability may vary day to day.

Due to restricted inventory in Philadelphia, EDUCAUSE has secured a limited number of rooms at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia Stadium. The rate includes transportation provided by the hotel to and from the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Hours and frequency of operation will match the official EDUCAUSE shuttle schedule. To book a room, please call the hotel directly at 215-755-9500 and mention EDUCAUSE.

Conference Shuttle Service

Shuttle service will be available from the following EDUCAUSE 2011 conference hotels to the Pennsylvania Convention Center:

Travel

As a major East Coast hub, Philadelphia is easy to reach by plane, train, and car. In fact, 40% of the U.S. population lives within a day's drive of the Convention Center!

  • Philadelphia International Airport: 28 airlines (three of which are low-fare carriers) operate nearly 600 daily, nonstop flights from 120 cities, including 60 daily and seasonal flights from 36 international destinations. Visit www.phl.org for additional airport information.
  • SEPTA Rail Line: The Regional High Speed Airport Line connects Philadelphia International Airport directly to downtown Philadelphia in just 20 minutes. (To get to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, depart at the Market East station.) Other SEPTA Regional Rail Lines can shuttle you throughout the region.   • Car: The convention center is just a few minutes from I-95, which runs north and south, making it about 1.5 hours from New York and 2.5 hours from Washington, D.C. Visit the Pennsylvania Convention Center website for parking information.
  • Amtrak Rail Transportation: Amtrak operates trains from 30th Street Station with high-speed service along the Northeast Corridor and points west and south. For schedules, fares and other information, visit www.Amtrak.com or call 1-800-USA-RAIL.

Ground Transportation

Lady Liberty Transportation provides shuttle service to and from the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The one-way fare between the airport and Center City (the central Philadelphia area) is $10/person. (Fares subject to change.) Reservations are not required for airport arrivals but are required for returning to the airport.

Airport Arrivals

  • Service is available from 5:30 a.m. until midnight.
  • Shuttles depart the airport approximately every 15 minutes.
  • Upon arrival at the airport, and after claiming your luggage, please proceed to the Ground Transportation Counter (located in Baggage Claim) and dial #27 from the free counter telephones for Lady Liberty or register with the counter attendant.
  • The ground transportation counter employees will coordinate you to your Lady Liberty Shuttle van.
  • Lady Liberty Shuttles pick up outside Baggage Claim at ZONE 7.

Airport Departures

  • Call 215-724-8888 to make a reservation at least 12 hours in advance of your desired pickup time.
  • Recommended pickup time is at least 2–2.5 hours before departure time for domestic flights, 3–3.5 hours before departure time for international flights.
