Online Participant & Team Resources

EDUCAUSE Virtual Convention Center

The Virtual Convention Center will be open:

  • October 18 at 11:00 a.m. ET: At this time, you can test your credentials; visit the welcome lobby; theater, test some session links; and see the networking lounge.
  • October 19–21, conference dates: The full environment including the virtual exhibit hall, prize center and game room will be open.
  • October 21–January 18: Access on-demand session streams and online-only sessions after the conference ends.
    • Please Note: Seth Godin’s general session webcast is available only to online participants for the duration of the conference.

  • NOTE: This environment is now closed. For access to all session recordings, MP3 and MP4 files, please click on the session title then on the Resources tab.

Log In

  • Run all system checks: INXPO (virtual convention center); Silverlight (session streams); Adobe Connect (online-only sessions). See the technical requirements page for full details.
  • Log in to the Virtual Convention Center. NOTE: This environment is now closed. For access to all session recordings, please click on the session title then on the Resources tab.
  • Enter in your EDUCAUSE Profile Credentials.
  • The INXPO system check will run automatically; you’ll then enter the virtual environment.

NOTE: You must be registered to access the virtual convention center. Check the online conference registration list.

Orientation Session

To help participants maximize their online conference experience, we conducted an orientation session on October 12, 2011. View the recording and slides for a:

  • conference and program overview
  • "tour" of our NEW online learning environment including views and tips regarding your profile pag; the welcome lobby; theater and program; networking lounge; exhibit hall directory and exhibit hall spaces; prize center; game room and help desk; chat and e-mail

Town Hall Meeting

We discussed the technology and online delivery strategies; tips for interactivity; strategies people have used to organize on-campus events; and we asked for feedback. View the recording and slides

Preconference Seminars (a separate registration and fee are required)

  • Seminar list: Tuesday, October 18, 1:00–4:00 p.m. ET (UTC-4); convert to your time zone
  • Seminars are held in unique Adobe Connect rooms. See the e-mail “Log In Information for Your Preconference Seminar” sent on October 14 to access your room.

  • See our Event Planning Kit for helpful information on hosting or facilitating an event on your campus, including an event-planning checklist, a discussion-facilitation guide, and more.
  • EDUCAUSE 2011 Online Flyer: This campus flyer is a template you can use to promote the online event on your campus. If you’d prefer to create your own, feel free to use this EDUCAUSE conference logo.
  • Vote on which session stream to watch: This Excel document includes three tabs and lists all session streams. Use it to create a survey that you can send to your colleagues so they can vote on which stream to watch live. (NOTE: On-demand webcasts will be available within 15 to 60 minutes after a session ends.)
