Abstract:

This brief study documents the deployment of wireless networking at Indiana University (IU). Indiana University provides departments with a checklist to support the procurement of robust and reliable wireless technologies that fit within an overall campus IT environment. IU also presents a general approach to life cycle funding of IT. This ECAR study also details IU's selection of wireless standards, their scope of deployment, the primary applications of wireless selected, and reviews the perceived benefits and lessons learned at this eight-campus university.
