ResponsesThe goal of this RFI is twofold: 1) to identify technology and/or services that can distribute licensed content (music, movies, etc.) to authorized users of information networks at U.S. colleges and universities and, 2) document their respective capabilities and characteristics. The issuance of this RFI is in furtherance of actions initiated by the Joint Committee of the Higher Education and Entertainment Communities through its Technology Task Force to address the growing problem of the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted content through Peer–to–Peer file sharing applications on university networks. The objective is to provide information to universities about the legitimate alternatives to the illegal copying occurring via P2P on university networks. The following companies responded to the second Request for Information sent out by the Technology Task Force of the Joint Committee of the Higher Education and Entertainment Communities. Their submissions are currently undergoing the review process. The reviews will be made available upon completion. Any additional companies who wish to submit a proposal are welcome to do so. Their proposals will be considered, reviewed, and published in a future version of this Web page.
