Recommended pre-conference reading: Interesting Practices and Best Systems in Faculty Engagement and Support

Meeting Agenda

The NLII has been experimenting with conferences and meetings that are more interactive and participatory for attendees, and this one will be no exception. As a consequence, we have four types of special sessions at this year's meeting:

Featured sessions are sessions where topics that are key NLII themes are featured (attendees choose among three). Key themes for this year's meeting include intellectual and copyright issues, inter-institutional partnerships, online communities, transformative assessment, faculty engagement and support, and institutional readiness.
Companion concurrent sessions are sessions that are designed for the follow-up discussion for a featured session. They provide a smaller, more interactive group setting, facilitator(s) who are experts in the field, and an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, brainstorm, and recommend support or services that the NLII could provide to help make progress in a particular area. To get the most out of a companion concurrent session, participants are encouraged to attend the featured session on the topic first.
Concurrent sessions are sessions that are organized around the NLII's six mission-critical issues. These sessions are designed to identify and showcase examples of "best practice" among NLII member institutions and organizations and to report the progress of NLII working groups and other NLII-related activities.
Project updates provide an opportunity for attendees to find out more about projects that the NLII has featured in past meetings.
