Seminar 04A - You Can Get There from Here: Strategies for Planning Academic iPad initiatives

The deployment of university-owned mobile devices is a multifaceted and resource-intensive undertaking. This workshop will guide participants through the development of a plan that avoids common pitfalls while helping achieve success for all stakeholders. The three workshop presenters represent differing institutional viewpoints (academic and technical) gleaned from their experiences in implementing iPad initiatives in various departments at Georgia State University. This three-hour workshop will begin by outlining several models for mobile technology deployment and will address the challenges presented by each model within the contexts of center readiness, faculty readiness, and student readiness.
