Nicholas Davis has been the PKI program manager at the University of WisconsinMadison, Division of Information Technology, since March 2004. He has been working in the IT field for 12 years, holding various IS architecture, system administration, and security-related roles in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining the UWMadison, Davis was employed by Rayovac Corporation and American Family Insurance, where he lead various infrastructure and IT security system implementations. He holds undergraduate degrees from the UWMadison in journalism and French, as well as an MBA degree in information systems analysis and design from the UWMadison School of Business. Davis is also a certified Entrust PKI system administrator. SummaryYour host, Steve Worona, will be joined by Nicholas Davis, and the topic will be "PKI Implementation at the University of WisconsinMadison." This session will provide a practical example of how the University of WisconsinMadison researched various PKI system models and deployed a managed solution to issue digital certificates to encrypt and digitally sign e-mail and other sensitive information, and authenticate online identities.
