Net@EDU Advisory GroupThe Net@EDU Advisory Committee's primary purpose is to ensure that Net@EDU best meets its members’ needs. The committee is responsible for the overall management of the working groups, including the creation of new groups and the dissolution of groups that have fulfilled their purpose or are no longer viable, and also provides recommendations for the Annual Meeting program. In addition, the advisory committee provides advice to the Net@EDU staff on special issues and problems that may arise from time to time. The advisory committee consists of six members who serve three-year terms, with one-third of the committee rotating off annually. Terms begin and end at the Net@EDU Annual Member Meeting. Nominations to the Net@EDU Advisory Committee are made by the current advisory committee and approved by a vote of the Net@EDU primary representatives. Candidates are drawn both from volunteers and from Net@EDU member recommendations. The EDUCAUSE vice president for networking and policy appoints the advisory committee chair, with thoughtful consideration given to recommendations of committee members. The advisory committee meets during the Net@EDU Annual Meeting. One or more additional teleconferences are scheduled during the year at times convenient to the committee.
