Policy and Law Constituent Group

This EDUCAUSE constituent group focuses on developing, maintaining, and enforcing campus technology policies, and on understanding the legal and ethical environment in which those policies exist. Examples include harassment, pornography, security, privacy, commerce, and copyright and intellectual property issues. This group is closely affiliated with the EDUCAUSE/Cornell Institute for Computer Policy and Law, and supports ongoing communication among participants in various programs sponsored by the Institute, including the annual seminar in Ithaca, NY.

An independent electronic discussion list (CPL–L) was hosted by Cornell University from 1997 through November 2002. The ICPL annual seminar is held in July. The Policy and Law Constituent Group meets at the EDUCAUSE annual conference and uses the electronic discussion list to discuss issues throughout the year.
