Seminar 1 - The Financial Mythology of Information Technology: The New Financial Game Plan

The transformational promises of IT in higher education will not be realized on the drawing board of some network engineer, computer scientist, futurist, or even a chief information officer. Instead, these answers will come from the strategic plans and business analyses of pan-university planners, senior business officers, college presidents, trustees, and legislators.

This seminar will examine many of the financial assumptions and legacy-based thinking that forms the basis for the financial mythology of information technology, and offer financial strategies for dealing with the new economics of information technology.
