Summary

Through the utilization of strong programming skills and knowledge of dynamic web environments, develops and maintains university web applications, and integrates and implements commercial enterprise solutions in order to meet the university's objective to provide information and services to prospective and existing students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other constituents.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

- Plays a significant role in research, planning, development, implementation and maintenance activities related to university web applications.

- Participates in all aspects of the web development cycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation and support.

- Proactively assesses effectiveness of web efforts and technologies and takes leadership role in proposing and implementing new capabilities.

- Works with customers to identify and analyze business requirements, and then turn them into software designs.

- Works to continuously improve skills and knowledge through independent research and attending training courses.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of a bachelor's degree

- Experience in web development

- Working knowledge of SQL and databases

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience delivering web solutions using either ASP.NET with C# or JAVA

- Experience with a web portal such as Luminis or uPortal

- Experience with a content management system

Additional Requirements

- Ability to make decisions in the absence of specific directions (prioritizing, problem solving)

- Excellent interpersonal skills are a must in order to work effectively and independently with a diverse staff

- Careful attention to detail and deadlines
