ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY SERVICES (ATS)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to ATS¦s Director & Assistant Dean for Educational Technology, direct the
Educational Technology Services (ETS) division of ATS, (formerly known as the
University Computing Center, UCC). Serve as the principal officer for leading the
policy, planning, development, deployment, and coordination of The College¦s
educational technology resources and programs in collaboration with departments,
libraries, research centers, and other entities comprising the University¦s
academic mission. The ETS division includes those services which provide
consulting and training for faculty, delivery of computing access to students
(e.g. computer labs and ResNet), and leadership in identifying appropriate classroom
technologies. Work closely with the College Teaching and Learning Technology
Roundtable (CTLTR).

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct managers, consultants, and other staff to ensure effective and efficient
delivery of the following services:

Educational Technology Center: A "one-stop shop" to The Ed Tech Center provides
consulting and training for faculty who seek to use IT to enhance instruction and
assistance in the basics of statistical and scientific software when incorporated
into the curriculum of a course. Identify appropriate multimedia and Web products
for course support and implementation; link ResNet services with faculty course needs.

Computer Labs and ResNet: Provide consistent "user interface" for student access to
IT through ResNet, electronic classrooms, and public computer labs. Lead
initiatives such as fee-for-printing.

Classroom Technology and Services: Provide technical and programmatic collaboration
with other service organizations.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 7-10 years experience in programming,
consulting, and/or relevant systems operations; 5 years in a management capacity
preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's
Degree preferred.
