Under the general direction of the manager of application services, research, implement, maintain and support administrative and/or academic information systems. HBU uses SungardHE's Banner© as a campus administration system and the College Board's Recruitment PLUS for recruiting. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Maintain and provide technical support for one or more Banner application modules.
• Implement, maintain and provide technical support for one or more ancillary applications that will interface into Banner.
• Develop and maintain documentation and procedural standards relating to technical area(s) of expertise and assigned systems.
• Lead efforts to develop solutions to business process or technical issues, application functionality needs, and data retrieval/reporting needs.
• Research new technologies or technology solutions and target aging technologies for replacement, briefing management as appropriate.
• Interpret user work requests, effect remedies and post progress and other information on the work request system.
• Provide advanced technical assistance in areas of expertise. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. (Requirement may be waived if applicant has additional years of experience.)
• At least five years experience in the field of computer application support or development required. Experience in a higher education environment helpful.
• At least two years experience working with applications deployed on Oracle relational databases, and a solid working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and the Oracle web application architectures.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Strong team player.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft networking tools.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Ability to analyze customer technical needs, and propose and provide appropriate solutions.
• Experience supporting any of SungardHE's Banner modules preferred.
• Experience in any or all of the following a plus: business process analysis/engineering, applications deployed on MS SQL relational databases , MS IIS web application support, Linux, OS X Working Conditions
• Must be able to sit and work at a computer/use the telephone for long periods
