FULL TIME; CAREER
Full Salary Range: $42,012-$58,116/annually (plus an additional $0.67 or $0.85/hourly when working a qualifying shift). Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

PLEASE NOTE: Primary office location: University Extension, CUPERTINO, CA

Under the general direction of the UCSC Silicon Valley Divisional Liaison (DL), and the Lead Desktop Support Technician and with the support of staff, the Desktop Support Technician installs, maintains, and supports staff computers and printers. In addition, this position performs analysis of requests for equipment and software used in classrooms and laboratories and executes implementation within department guidelines.

Qualifications include:
Good technical and non-technical communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to disseminate the information to end-users and clients who have a wide range of computing skills

Knowledge and experience in the development of documentation including installation check lists, pre and post-installation documentation, instructions, procedures, and diagrams

An understanding or project management techniques including the support of defined project activities and tasks

Ability to illustrate a viewpoint and participate in highly collaborative, objective driven teams

Experience in following complex installation checklists and testing procedures for installing and maintaining computer systems, software and printers
