Summary Dartmouth College seeks applications for a Director of Information Management Systems and Technology in the Office of Development. This individual will lead a team of professionals who provide the information management systems technology infrastructure and support services required to advance the goals and strategies of the Offices of Development and Alumni Relations. This is a special opportunity to participate with a highly motivated team that is fully engaged in support of Dartmouth’s mission. Responsibilities The Director will serve as the primary advisor to the leadership of Development and Alumni Relations on technology and systems strategy and adoption; and participate on the Development Management Team. The Director will report to the Director of Advancement Services and manage a budget of $1.5 million. S/he will oversee all aspects of the divisions’ technology and technology services including a total of 16 staff in the following departments: application development, response services, IT (infrastructure) and the analyst team. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead strategic, forward thinking IT planning initiatives in a multi-stakeholder environment. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with ten plus years experience in a management capacity in an IT organization and five years leading an organization of comparable size and complexity. Prior experience working in IT in related industries such as alumni relations, fundraising, government, other non-profits, health care or professional services preferred. Master’s degree preferred. Other requirements include: excellent relationship-building skills with a track record of success managing relationships with a diverse set of users; proven ability to build, develop, mentor and lead a successful team of IT professionals; excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; knowledge of core technologies including Unix, Linux, Oracle databases, .Net, LAMP or similar web environments and knowledge of leading edge technology applications and their potential application to a Development and Alumni Relations organization including social networking, collaboration tools, multimedia and other web 2.0 applications.
