Description:
The Emmanuel d’Alzon Library of Assumption College, with over 200,000 volumes and access to more than 100 databases, serves a student body of over 2000 FTE.  The library is staffed by eight professional librarians and six paraprofessionals.

Qualifications:
Assumption College seeks a visionary Director who will lead our talented and innovative staff in developing the next generation library.  The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills. S/He will show understanding of the learning styles of current students, trends in higher education, academic libraries, and information technology, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate and build relationships within the entire College community. 

Candidates must have at least five years of progressively responsible administrative or supervisory experience in an academic library. Academic qualifications include a master's degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited program. A second master’s degree in another academic discipline is required; a doctorate in library science is highly desirable. The Director reports to the Provost/VPAA.

Terms of Appointment:
The Director is on a 12 month administrative appointment. Salary is competitive.
