Nominations and applications are invited for the position of Executive Director of Information Technology Services at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The Executive Director of Information Technology Services serves as the University’s Chief Information Officer and will --provide leadership for the University in planning and implementing instructional and information technology initiatives consistent with the university's mission, vision and strategic plan --manage the strategic and tactical deployment of instructional and information technology resources (data, voice and video) to carry out the teaching, learning, research and administrative activities of the university --assume administrative responsibility for all aspects of information technology services including planning, budgeting, supervision, evaluation --work with appropriate governance groups to develop policies and procedures needed to meet information technology needs for the campus community --facilitate cooperation among all university units to ensure the most effective and efficient deployment of information technology resources --serve as a resource in matters of instructional and information technology services for all units of the university and --represent the university on matters related to instructional and information technology in state, regional and national forums. Qualifications include: --master’s degree --significant professional experience and leadership in managing instructional and information technology; experience in a higher education setting may be considered an asset --successful management experience --demonstrated ability to work effectively with a broad range of constituencies in a collaborative manner --understanding of enterprise systems including ERPs, course management systems, and other forms of learning technology --effective communication skills including fluency in business and higher education language and the ability to translate technical information into non-technical language --ability to track technology trends and envision implications for instructional and information technology, and --demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and ability to contribute to the University’s commitment to enhancing student awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.
