Description:

The California State University, Northridge’s (CSUN) IT Infrastructure Services Department seeks an Operations Specialist to monitor, operate, control, and coordinate service for their multi-system information processing and transmission equipment in multiple facilities within the Campus infrastructure.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain operations and network documentation for the IT Data Center and related facilities, assist with equipment installations and infrastructure facility build-outs, and, manage the process of installing or de-installing equipment, peripherals, and associated components.

The Infrastructure Operations Specialist will also develop, revise, and utilize documentation and procedures, monitor and report system status, act on alarms from Network Management Software, update and manage infrastructure records, provide troubleshooting services and solutions, diagnose, resolve and report system problems and escalate to appropriate personnel when necessary.

Qualifications:
Equivalent to two years of full-time experience in computing or two years of college information technology or related field. Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network equipment; and LAN communications hardware, protocols, and interfaces. Familiarity with LAN hardware such as hubs, routers, gateways, and switches.
