IT and Telecommunications Services Assistant Manager - #6295 (Carnegie Mellon University)

Carnegie Mellon's Computing Services Telecommunications Department is searching for an IT and Telecommunications Services Assistant Manager to provide leadership and oversight to our Telecommunications IT and Service Operations. Carnegie Mellon is a world renowned international research institution and is searching for the best and the brightest talent to join our organization. This position will oversee our IT Operations and our Telecommunications Services groups and therefore will need to have a strong background both technically as well as exceptional customer service skills. The individual we are searching for should be a highly skilled leader with strong organizational and communication skills. This individual also should have strong experience in the oversight and management of staff. IT skills required for this position include: Application/System Analysis, Technical Architecture Design and Review, Networking, Application Management, Custom Reporting, and System Administration. A preference will be place on candidates who are familiar with Telecom operations including a background in VOIP. This person will be expected to collaborate and build partnerships with various units across campus. They also must have the ability to work under pressure, meet inflexible deadlines, and deal with difficult individuals while maintaining composure, and work with frequent interruptions. After hours and weekend work will likely be necessary. Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Business Management, or other related degree is desired; 3-5 years management experience with a preference for experience in Telecommunications. Technical certifications including MCSE, A+, or others will be considered a Plus. Experience in Academic setting preferred.
