LEVEL: APA 12 POSTING #: 1841 RE-OPENED: 01/29/08 Information Technologist I MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related field; three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in application program and testing, including systems analysis and design in an IBM mainframe environment using TSO, OS JCL, COBOL or PL/1, VSAM; experience in project management, including planning and leading small to moderate size projects, application systems analysis and design, and conversion and implementation of small to moderate mainframe systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE SKILLS: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written); experience in a team-oriented environment; application support experience in a multi-programmer environment; experience with CICS/BMS and IDMS/ADSO; Web application development experience using HTML/CSS or Java Script, ASP/VB, J2EE (POJOS, Servlets, JSP, Ant), MVC (or other design patterns), T-SQL or PL-SQL; familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server or Oracle. SUMMARY: Will analyze, design, develop, test, implement, document, and modify complex computer programs primarily involving the IBM mainframe environment, though some work may also be on client-server or Web applications; participates in client and peer consultations and system design evaluations; assists and trains clients to identify system requirements and solutions across multiple platforms; leads application development projects of small to moderate size, including creating project plans, project scope, cost estimates, coordinating activities of programmers and customers, and managing project tasks and resources. |
