Description:

The University of St. Thomas, Enrollment Services Division seeks an Information and Database Analyst to manage information reporting and analysis for Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to data analysis and reporting to support business processes and decision making; maintaining data integrity; managing and scheduling an extensive library of reports; assisting with debugging issues regarding data storage and reporting of undergraduate admissions and financial aid information; obtaining a complete understanding of enterprise systems; engaging in designing, developing, documenting, testing, training and providing support to end users on reporting processes.

Qualifications: Equivalent to a BA/BS in computer science or a related field and five years of related work experience to include knowledge of Cognos BI suite, SQL, PL/SQL, Appworx, Oracle, and Toad (an Oracle database management package), Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools. Masters degree and/or working knowledge of ERP systems, such as SunGard Higher Education's Banner system, preferred.

We are looking for candidates with an understanding of standard computer system hardware and business application software operating capabilities and limitations; experience in database design and use of large database applications; knowledge in report generation from database management systems; a strong attention to detail; techniques for maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and the ability to translate their needs into data and technological support; initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines; ability to work effectively in a team as well as individually; strong organizational skills.
