Description:

This Instructional Designer position plays a key role in Old Dominion University's efforts to provide pedagogical, instructional design, and development consultation related to courses, modules, and whole curriculum activities for traditional, online, and hybrid course projects. This position will also be involved in teaching academic courses or course modules, communicating with other service units in the Center for Learning Technologies (CLT) and in other departments, composing and facilitating educational technology workshops, and providing guidance to instructional technologists and student assistants.

Candidates must have a master's degree in instructional design or a related field and several years of comprehensive experience in instructional design preferably in a higher education environment. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience in quality control, needs assessment, and/or familiarity with the military and industry.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: Extensive knowledge and application of skills in instructional design theory, principles, and practices; considerable skills and abilities in a wide array of technology software programs, demonstrable project management skills; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; and sufficient generalist knowledge to be able to serve numerous content areas.
