Description of Duties The Instructional Technologist provides support and training on the use of course delivery tools. These support and training functions focus on faculty and student use of the ANGEL Learning Management System. This position is also responsible for creating and maintaining training and end-user support content of instructional delivery tools, particularly in regard to using a learning management system for class delivery. Some evening hours may be required depending on the nature of faculty support and training schedules. Specific Duties - Provide end-user support for university’s ANGEL Learning Management System implementation
- Prepare self-paced and workshop-based training content on instructional delivery tools, especially the use of ANGEL LMS to deliver course materials
- Conduct one-on-one and group workshops on the use of instructional delivery tools as needed
- Document frequently-asked questions from workshops and end-user support
- Evaluate and adjust training materials according to feedback and end-user support
- Inform instructors of emerging teaching technologies and related tools
- Assists the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence Director in determining appropriate instructional delivery tools based on feedback from end-user support and training of instructors
Education and Certification Requirements · Bachelor’s Degree in information systems or services, or related field with appropriate focus on instructional delivery Experience and Skills Required · Experience providing end-user support for a learning management system (such as ANGEL or Blackboard) · Excellent customer service skills and problem solving capability · Experience as an instructor or trainer, particularly in a technology-focused area · Experience with visual design and layout as related to presentations and instructional delivery · Working knowledge of media delivery formats including streaming video, animations, and their integration into a learning management system · Familiarity with the following multimedia tools: o Adobe Connect o Audacity o TechSmith Camtasia o MS PowerPoint o Apple iTunesU · Experience with presentation and content-delivery systems including multimedia classroom equipment · Ability to work independently and as part of a team and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment · Strong interpersonal communication skills · Strong organizational skills All interested applicants should complete a Florida Tech employment application and return it to the Office of Human Resources via mail or fax.
